Description
Suboxone 8mg is a prescription medication used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). It contains 8 mg of buprenorphine (a partial opioid agonist) and 2 mg of naloxone (an opioid antagonist). It works by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms without producing the same intense "high" associated with full opioids. How it WorksBuprenorphine: Activates the brain's opioid receptors just enough to prevent withdrawal and cravings, but much more weakly than other opioids.Naloxone: Included to deter misuse. When the medication is taken as directed—dissolved under the tongue or against the cheek—the naloxone has virtually no effect. However, if the medication is dissolved and injected, the naloxone will immediately trigger severe withdrawal symptom
