Suboxone 8mg is a prescription medication used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). It contains 8 mg of buprenorphine (a partial opioid agonist) and 2 mg of naloxone (an opioid antagonist). It works by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms without producing the same intense "high" associated with full opioids. How it WorksBuprenorphine: Activates the brain's opioid receptors just enough to prevent withdrawal and cravings, but much more weakly than other opioids.Naloxone: Included to deter misuse. When the medication is taken as directed—dissolved under the tongue or against the cheek—the naloxone has virtually no effect.
